One of the most famous tourist places in Jordan is Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Petra is an ancient city carved into the red sandstone cliffs by the Nabataeans, a nomadic Arab tribe, more than 2,000 years ago.

The flag of Jordan consists of three horizontal bands of black, white, and green, representing the Abbasid, Umayyad, and Fatimid dynasties that ruled the region.

There is also a red triangle on the left side, with a white seven-pointed star in the center, symbolizing the unity of the Arab people and the seven verses of the first surah of the Quran.
